The Opportunity

An experienced payroll advisor is required for a long term temporary to possible permanent position in central Edmonton!  Experience with US Payroll is a must, along with experience using WORKDAY Software.  This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office, 2 work from home.  If you have your PCP Designation and are available for immediate employment, apply today!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly full cycle biweekly Canadian and US Payroll (800-900 employees)
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Audit employee and payroll data changes related to pay, pension, benefits. Etc.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Create reports, prepare remittances to Receiver General and other third-party vendors.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Maintain employee files to ensure all related employment documentation is accurate and stored properly.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Answer all queries from staff regarding any payroll concerns.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Participate in configuration testing WORKDAY for any updates or program changes.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Work as part of a team to ensure continued process improvement, best practices and efficiency related to day to day payroll duties.

  •  
  • Assist in annual T4 and W2 processing and other year end duties as required.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  •  
  •  
  •  
  • PCP Designation.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including experience with US Payroll.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Experience with WORKDAY mandatory, experience and working knowledge of Oracle and LAPP pension plan is an asset.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Knowledge of payroll processing including federal and provincial employment standards and regulations, including collective agreements.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  •  
  •  
  •  
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy along with the ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines.

  •  
  • Team player with Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  
  •  
  •
