Executrade is working hand in hand with a Forest Products Manufacturing Company searching for an experienced Millwright. In this role you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functionality and reliability of fleet machinery and equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with 3-6 years of millwrighting experience in a modern sawmilling operation setting.

The Millwright will be responsible for the following:

Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of machinery and equipment, including debarkers, sawing systems, compressors, conveyors, grinders, chippers, and various lumber processing equipment. Ensure equipment operates at peak performance levels and minimize downtime.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, following industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections, report any potential hazards, and implement corrective actions promptly. Technical Expertise: Utilize your deep knowledge of millwrighting principles and techniques to diagnose mechanical issues, identify faulty components, and execute effective repairs. Perform adjustments, alignments, and installations of new equipment as required.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory. Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and recommendations for process improvements. Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate and collaborate with other team members, including production personnel and maintenance staff, to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers, providing updates on maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Millwrighting Experience: Minimum of 3 years of millwrighting experience in a sawmill environment, with a proven track record of maintaining heavy equipment. ( Sawmill experience is preferred.)

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical manuals. Proficient in using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

Safety Consciousness: A commitment to adhering to safety regulations and protocols, with a keen eye for hazard identification and mitigation. Certification in workplace safety training (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid) is an asset.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions. A proactive approach to prevent potential breakdowns and optimizing equipment performance.

Reliability and Adaptability: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Flexibility to work 11-12 hour shifts, including night shifts and alternating weekends, with overtime pay.
