The Opportunity

We are pleased to partner with our well established not for profit client in their search for an experienced Buyer/Administrative Support to join the team on a long term contract basis.  Reporting directly into the Manager of Procurement & Contracts Management, this position will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders in the procurement of good and services.  This position is a hybrid role offering a rotating schedule of one week in the office, one week working from home.  Experience in general purchasing for a facility is a requirement, along with a positive, helpful can-do attitude are a must! 

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Initiate tenders, proposals and quotes for products.
  • Evaluate bid submissions.
  • Daily processing of purchase requisitions for assigned categories.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop specifications and scope of work for the purpose of soliciting qualified bids.
  • Research new sources of supply to met requirements.
  • Prequalify vendors and ensure all contractors are compliant with insurance and WCB requirements.
  • Manage assigned contracts for compliance, pricing updates, products updates and renewals.
  • Weekly review of any invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Monthly review of open order report to action any outstanding issues.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience
  • Supply Chain Management Certificate or degree in related field preferred.
  • Extensive buying experience in various categories (healthcare setting preferred).
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others.
  • Experiene working with tenders and proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay will be base on experience.  A clear criminal record check is mandatory.
