Fantastic Opportunity for a Business Developer in the Commercial Construction Industry.

The Opportunity

Our client is a longstanding construction company who has taken on multimillion dollar projects throughout Western Canada. They are a lean entrepreneurial company with offices in Alberta and BC and a partnership that has been around for over 70 years. They focus on new builds and have the internal capacity to take on everything from Commercial to Industrial to Recreational facilities.


Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop strategies and objectives to support your business development goals by acquiring and defining project opportunities, along with performing research and managing client contacts.
  • Identify market potential for your target market and develop action plans to improve market share.
  • Prepare, develop, and ensure high-quality proposals and presentations, putting forward new market trends including architectural design, geographic, economic, etc.
  • Determine the competitors in the market and develop effective strategies in winning new business.
  • Work closely with in-house design and project management resources to estimate budgeting and complete a scope of work presentation to clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
  • Ten years of experience in Business Development with experience working in Commercial Construction.
  • Has experience closing multimillion-dollar projects and proven high level negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedure and trade practices including building codes, project scope and safety.
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-directed business development attitude that enables you to drive personal goals and sales targets.
