Wonderful Opportunity for a Bilingual Bookstore Manager and Someone who Loves Spreading Gods Word – Qubec City, QC!

The Opportunity

Our client, a champion of the Bible and the Living Word is looking for a Bookstore Manager for their Qubec City location. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members in Qubec and across Canada to promote Ministry initiatives and activities and increase product sales.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop and implement an integrated retail and program plan aimed at promoting Bible sales and other Christian books and products
  • Engage and serve a diverse community and customer base, and develop a plan to attract younger generations
  • Liaise with and assist Ministry partners to provide information and collaborate on upcoming events
  • Engage and collaborate with community staples, such as schools, churches and community centres to promote the Ministrys presence and produce activities and events to attract new members and increase product sales
  • Negotiate the purchase of Christian books and products
  • Manage the day to day operations of the bookstore, including inventory and customer inquiries
  • Attract, hire and mentor new hires
  • Additional duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience managing a bookstore or equivalent retail management experience
  • College or university certificate or degree, specializing in business management, marketing, adult education, youth ministry, leadership, or equivalent of
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Strong understanding accounting principals
  • Experience designing and implementing Christian programming preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Bible, Christian books, and merchandise
  • Familiarity with the challenges of local churches, and ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community
  • Understanding of concepts and measurement of ministry return on investment (evaluation), and relationship to financial ROI
  • Self-motivated and determined while remaining open and flexible
  • Good decision-making acumen
  • Promote by example and mentorship the Ministrys culture of integrity
  • Honest, reliable, personable and approachable
