The Opportunity

A North American leader in pump manufacturing continues to solidify their strong Canada commitment. This concentrated focus has created another fantastic opportunity for a Pump Sales Professional in Ontario. Although you will be focused on water and wastewater applications, you will also have other exciting and diverse pump application opportunities across a broad range of industries in Ontario and Manitoba, including mining and petrochemical application. You will have a great time working for a supportive manager at a progressive company with one of the best product lines available in the market. You will be treated as the dynamic, self-motivated PUMP SALES professional that your experience and track record warrants.

You must be able to understand the Value Proposition because our client will never commoditize their products and devalue their position in the market.

As the Pump Sales Professional your responsibilities and functions would include:

  • Build, manage and enhance relationships with Distributors, Municipalities, Contractors, EPCMs and End Users in Ontario and Manitoba by:
    • Soliciting and Developing new opportunities.
    • Getting on Bid lists, securing Preferred Vendor status, and being specified on projects.
    • Support distribution in closing projects.
    • Ongoing networking and meetings with the influencers and decision makers.
    • Be the educational lead for clients including ?lunch and learns?, trade shows and providing supporting technical information.
    • Providing Excellence in Customer service.
  • Actively communication with team members, Manufacturing Distributors, Municipalities, Contractors, EPCMs and End Users to:
    • Support product selection application and quotes.
    • Oversee and/or engineered bid proposals including follow-up direct and through distribution.
    • Provide product and package technical support.
    • Provide pricing and pricing strategies to support sales through distribution.
  • Develop a business plan, sales forecasts, and support marketing strategies.
  • Working from a home office with support from regional branch and head office.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant PUMP industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success of a minimum of 3 years selling pumps or related mechanical sales with a technical knowledge of fluid handling equipment.
  • Well cultivated network with strong relationships at multiple levels within, Municipalities, Contractors, EPCMs and End Users.
  • Must be experienced in working with EPCs, and the engineering process, including getting specified, submitting bids.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas, influence buying decisions and respond quickly/precisely to customer challenges.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills required for technical documents review and commentary.
  • Superior organizational skills – a self-starter with a drive to ?win? and the motivation to be professionally successful within a team environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills Strong listening and clarification skills.
  • Well-developed ability to make successful sales presentations at all levels of the clients?.
  • Proven business, strategic planning, and account management skills.
  • Focused on excellence in client service.
  • Great negotiation skills.
  • Driven to succeed with a positive attitude.

Compensation and Benefits

  • A base salary of $80,000-$90,000 per year or more depending on experience.
  • A bonus that should be an additional 20%-40% or more.
